Galeries Lafayette (40 Boulevard Haussmann, Paris) (Metro: Chasssée d’Antin La Fayette) – this is one of Paris’ major department stores, housed within a 10-story building, finished in 1912 with a glass & steel dome and Art Nouveau staircases.
Items here range from women’s & children’s designer apparel, cosmetics, jewelry & accessories, books, music and electronics (found within the store’s main building, Lafayette Coupole), Men’s designer apparel & accessories (found at the Lafayette Homme building), and home furnishings (found within the Lafayette Maison building). Every Friday at 3:00 pm, the Lafayette Coupole building (7th floor) holds a half-hour fashion show that’s open to the public.
