Hippodrome d’Auteuil (Route d’Auteuil aux Lacs, Paris) (Metro: Porte d’Auteuil) — the Auteuil racecourse is considered as the leading French racecourse for steeplechase racing (extending over 44 hectares). Inaugurated in 1873, it extends over 33 hectares and is situated at the edge of the Bois de Boulogne. It is made up of a track of hedges and two steeplechase race tracks for which it is most famous. 40,000 spectators (including 4,800 seated) can attend the races, the most famous of which include: the “Prix du Président de la République” and the “Grand Steeple Chase de Paris”.
